There's an art to life's distractions… perhaps an Irishman at Fenway Park

In 2023, I had a chance to go see Hozier, but I didn't go and I woefully sat on that for a few years.
Come June 2025, there was another chance to see Hozier at Fenway Park, and it was definitely a breathtaking experience. Absolutely hands-down some of the best graphics and composed shows I've ever seen. For those that are familiar with Hozier's work, you know how meaningful the lyrics are and how applicable they are to society. Throughout the entirety of the show, Hozier had multiple graphics perfectly aligned with the music – most notably, Eat Your Young had found itself backdropped by a rolling count of "deaths due to armed conflict since 1989" and "children displaced due to conflict and violence between 2010 and 2023." I have no idea whose work this is, but they definitely did more than just decorate and light up the show.
The show was opened by Amble and Gigi Perez. Albeit Gigi Perez being an amazing artist, I'm not too inclined to think she was a fitting opener just for the vibes of Hozier. Her vocals, however, were very fitting for her joining of Work Song with Hozier. However, it does makes sense for her to open given the nature of Boston and the shows that occur at Fenway – it definitely can be a hurdle to sell out the show without the right artists in mind.
Overall, the acoustics were on point throughout the show, however, -1 on the audience. It felt like a good number of the audience remained disengaged from the music, likely people dragged to the show by their partners, children, siblings, or parents. The scene was far less intimate than I would've liked as people ran up and down the aisles to go use the restroom and couple of others loudly talking throughout the show.
I absolutely loved hearing Hozier live, but his music makes for a desire to find an intimate scene for it. His popularity definitely precedes him and makes Fenway Park one of the only places that can reasonably host him.
Would I repeat? Sure, but probably not at Fenway.

Lights up
Every lamp is a week Moh played Hozier in the two years before the night at Fenway Park. More plays, brighter stage. Amble and Gigi Perez, who opened, have a color of their own.
